School promotional videos are the golden ticket when it comes to marketing schools 

Schools, rightly so, are secure facilities; after all, we need to ensure the safety and safeguarding of our staff and young people. However, this often leads to some mystery. Like the gated walls of Mr Wonka’s Factory, it is hard to imagine what life is like inside this gated community, especially if you are looking for a school.

Videos, when compared to other forms of media, allow you to gain a real insight. “Video is the perfect medium to tell a story”, says Adam Walker, Director of Hubspoke Media. “Video provides you with a lot of flexibility.”

“In our videos, we start with the message. What are we trying to say, and who are we trying to tell? From here, we can then start to develop your story, themes and ideas.

“Schools are vibrant places, full of activity. They are some of my favourite video projects. There is so much breadth in the subject areas that they create really engaging videos.

“A school video provides a shop window to your school. This allows prospective parents and students to see what it is you have to offer. It is important to get it right.”

Schools are incredible places, full of excitement and energy. Hubspoke Media’s job is to get the best content that showcases and captures the essence of your school.  

What video offers is an opportunity to show the life that takes place in your school each day. 

In our view, the golden ticket is a ‘mash-up’ video coupled with some interview videos that give room for a more personal approach. 

Adam said: “For secondary schools, I always recommend some videos with the existing year seven students. These are great for students in year six who are transitioning to secondary schools. It allows their peers to share their experiences and answer the frequently asked questions that often arise.”

The team support schools with the pre-production planning, developing the ideas and theme ahead of filming the video. Production follows; the school are asked to bring the various areas into a timetable for the production team to follow. This is then made available for a review and amendment process with the school (with final checks on content and pupil consent).

We ask schools to coordinate consent during production, and we ask our schools to do a final consent check in the amendments stage to ensure that only students with consent make it into the final video.
